Ice Cream and Movies

Brandon and I decided to go see The Avengers last night, which he has already seen once and I was super excited about.

I got home from a long, crazy day of screenings and handing out freebies at the Senior Expo here in Memphis, and this outfit was about the cutest thing I could manage.

Sometimes I like to take really really bad pictures so you guys appreciate how good my other ones are.

Kidding!

I was simply too lazy to move the white tower, or to turn on any lights, or to change any camera settings.

You are welcome.

This is one of my favorite new shirts from J.Crew, because it was cheap, it's casual and it's comfy.

I'm totally breaking out of my ballet flat comfort zone with these, but I had a really good coupon so I decided to go for it.

A watermark is essential on this photo since I know many people will try to steal it.

If you can't make them out (which I don't know why you wouldn't be able to), they are brown Tory Burch sandals. I'm glad I purchased them, and I honestly think I'll wear them quite a bit. I will love my ballet flats till the day I die but sometime it's 100* in Memphis and these will be perfect for those times.

Anyways, I made Brandon take me to YoLo, which is right across the street from the movie theater. As much as I love frozen yogurt, I hardly ever get to eat it because Brandon is practically vegan so he doesn't eat it. I tried gelato for the first time ever and I am in love!

Avengers was awesome, and made me want to watch Iron Man because I love Robert Downey Jr. and that character. But what I really really want to see it the new Batman! I saw a preview for the second time last night, and it gives me chills! Luckily, I'm off work the day it comes out, and Brandon's best friend who is the biggest Batman fan ever might be living in Memphis by that time, so we might just go see the midnight showing!

Just looking at this picture makes me so excited! I'm a huge fan of action movies, especially super-hero movies, and Batman has always been my favorite. After watching The Avengers, I'm pretty sure Iron Man is going to come in as a close second, though.

Now I'm off to work- it's another 50 hour week for me, but I don't really mind since I love my new job and I love to shop! :)

Weekend Rewind

Little Moments Like This

Guess what? My last post was last week's Weekend Rewind!..... It was a busy week, I worked 50 hours. Again. Nothing exciting here.

But my weekend was pretty fun.... read on!

Brandon was out of town all weekend. He finished his finals earlier this week, and went to visit his family and friends in middle Tennessee.

My good friend Melaina came to see me, (she actually came in town for a residency conference, but also to see me) and we stayed up late Friday night watching Grey's Anatomy and talking about pharmacy, pharmacists, and how good life is. It was just like the old days!

The good old days, as previously mentioned. We were on the White Coat Ceremony Red Carpet!

Saturday, my Mom and my Grandmother came to visit us. Kelly and I went ahead and gave them their Mother's day presents.

Of course, we had to go outside for a little picture session! After spending time at the house, we had a yummy lunch at Jason's Deli- one of our favorites!

Saturday night, I got to babysit Anniston while Kelly and Brandon went on a date. We had so much fun playing, and I got to rock her to sleep, which is always my favorite.

Sunday morning, we had a little photo shoot with Anniston. Part 1 of 3, probably. More details later- but just know it's gonna be amazing!

The rest of the day Sunday, we just played with Anniston, edited pictures, and relaxed.
We decided to give Anniston a bath outside so we could all enjoy the beautiful weather- and she enjoyed it thoroughly!

Now, I'm just enjoying my final moments with the house and the bed to myself before Brandon comes home tomorrow. I kind of enjoy being able to watch whatever I want and spread out when I sleep. But after a day or two, I'd much rather have him by my side even if I have to watch Star Trek and share the bed with him and two furry creatures.

Weekend Rewind

Little Moments Like This

It's been a long, but wonderful week starting my new job. I was telling one of my friends from my old store last night- I don't remember the last time I slept until my alarm went off for an entire week. Usually I'm up way before then, stressing or worrying about something ridiculous. It's been nice to have that stress lifted and put those things behind me, even if there are new stresses (but exciting ones) about starting my new job.

This weekend was short and sweet for me. I picked up an overtime shift on Saturday to make some extra money- I've been enjoying my bike so much, I want to eventually upgrade to another one that is super fast.

On Saturday while I was at work, Brandon found our long-lost cat, Boo-Boo, who you can read about here. We still can't believe it!

Sunday, by default, was my lazy day. It was awesome. I slept in, watched Hulu Plus, and relaxed all morning. In the afternoon, I went over to Kelly's to see Anniston and my parents. Kelly has a few pictures from the afternoon here.

Kelly and I decided to go for a bike ride, and ended up riding for a little over an hour! Thank goodness, because I needed some exercise. When we got back, we were starving, so we headed to Swanky's for dinner.

Don't you love how my mom is looking at some random object 10 feet to the right of me for no reason? I love that too. Love how easy it is to get a good picture of these two. {insert sarcasm}

After dinner, I headed promptly back to my bed to continue my day of laziness. More Hulu Plus was involved, and then a long, wonderful night of sleep. Sleeping until my alarm went off, again.  I could get used to this!

He's Alive!

When Brandon and I started dating he had just adopted Carl, who is evil and wakes us up every morning at 5am (after taking up 1/3 of the bed all night).

About a year after that, we adopted Booger, aka Boo-Boo. He was sweet and fat and cuddly but still a little bit annoying sometimes with all his meowing.

I'm sure you're all aware (since I talk about her all of the time)- in 2007 I found the love of my life.

I make jokes, but all three of our animals were loved and incredibly spoiled.

Until December of 2009, when Boo-Boo had gotten into the habit of thinking he needed to go outside to play like Phoebe did. Well, one day he never came back inside, and we couldn't ever find him. Brandon was heartbroken, and I was too. He walked around the neighborhood for weeks looking for him. We couldn't stand the thought of something happening to him, or of him going hungry. (You can tell by looking at him he never went hungry)

Boo-Boo was the sweetest, cuddliest cat I've ever met. I AM NOT a cat person, but I loved Boo-Boo.

Well, today Brandon was running in Chickasaw, which is a really nice neighborhood that is exactly 1 mile from our house. Running along, just enjoying the day.... and then he saw Boo-Boo.

Sprawled out on the front porch, being all fat and content.

He spoke with the lady who found him, and she said he's been living there every since we lost him. She feeds him wet and dry food, he sleeps with her daughter every night, and a girl who lives next door who isn't allowed to have pets comes to visit him almost every day.

I'm sure you can imagine our shock and happiness that he is alive and well!

Just in case you aren't convinced- here is a side-by-side comparison. I knew from the second I saw this picture it was him!
I'm sad he isn't here with us, but I honestly think it was meant to be. Boo-boo belongs in a nice, rich lady's house where he gets to eat fancy wet food, bathe in the sun on the front porch and snuggle in a bed that isn't over-crowded with 2 other animals.

This made my day!
