But then sometimes, I go out there it feels so light and easy. That happened for me tonight. And I'm so high right now. High on endorphins. You know the feeling- it's one of the best feelings in the world!
All cheesiness and over excitement aside, one of the things that made my run so enjoyable was my clothes. I've never been one to run in shorts due to the whole riding up issue. Last week, I thought I had found a pair that I could comfortably run in....
.... but I didn't after all. See the orange layer underneath? Yeah they ride up eventually too.
But, I think I've finally found a pair that really, really works for me. They might look a little dorky and require a long loose shirt, but they are so comfortable and keep me cool.

I honestly do think I need another pair of these. I will be patient and give them one more try before I stock up. Of course if I do stock up, more of these shirts will be required as well to cover up my boo-tay.

All of this may seem ridiculous, but when I don't had to worry about my clothing while I'm running, I get to focus on the actual running.
Or, if it's a good day like today, I don't think about anything. I just go and enjoy the time alone with a clear head.
I've been wanting shorts like those for so long! Of course, I would need a long shirt, as I have massive quads that I'm slightly self-conscious about. :-/ Long layers really do make all the difference!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let me know if you end up loving those shorts!
I have huge hips/ thighs, and mine aren't even toned! I will let you know :)
Deletelove your shoes!
ReplyDeleteYay for good runs! I'm not sure if they do anymore, but Forever21 had a pair of long-er spandex shorts like that in their active line. Not as durable or high quality obvs but a good cheap option to throw in the mix.
ReplyDeleteAnd, bc I'm Oiselle obsessed, these might be worth a look? I've never tried them but have heard good things. http://www.oiselle.com/shop/running-shorts/stride-short
Ok I'm stepping off my (unsolicited) personal shopper soapbox.
Will definitely check the Oiselle ones out.. someone else recommended the Lululemon shorts as well. Thanks for your PS soapbox!
DeleteYour Free's are so so cute!! green?!
ReplyDeletecomfy shorts are so important! I've never chaffed by my sis does and for a long time so would only run in Capri's, she now runs in Lululemon groove shorts and swears by them!
I hope you've been having a great weekend!
xoxo!
Thanks! I got them at the Nike outlet.
DeleteI've never chaffed in my thighs (yet) because I'm too self conscious about by shorts riding up to run long enough in them to have time to chafe. LOL Hopefully now I won't have to worry about that! I've always always always wanted to try Lululemon, but I don't live near a store. I'm going near one this summer, so I'm gonna have a little shopping spree!
hope you finally find something that works for you! once you do, you'll be all set!
ReplyDeletethese items have been working great so far! I think I'm set as soon as I get an extra pair :)
